It came!! Feel like I can introduce myself now

Hi,
I'm mark and have had my eye on an electric skateboard for a couple of months...used to ride my motorbike into London everyday but due to a recent spate of bad luck I thought I would try something else...so thought I'll give this a go...board to the station then from station to work. Never done it before but never too old to learn new things

Thanks, yeah I have read a few posts in the research phase of my purchase lol; can't wait to test it out

 

It's ok, 3 miles to station then 2 miles to work (after 30 minute train ride) so in total it will be in the range of 10 miles. I work in Waterloo so should be alright on the cycle lanes for most of it.

 

So...first day using it and all I can say is I had a lot of fun and funny looks! Don't feel I'm too bad considering I have zero boarding experience but the fun was over all too quickly when the battery got to 40%. Pains of being a heavy person I guess. Out of curiosity what wheels do you guys use in London. Just cinsicious about how long my battery will last with me in it haha

 

Are they not hard to get hold of though?

 

Well that's the end of that! Trigger of the remote snapped of the axis thing. Less than 3 days use

 

Huge bummer mate with the remote. I'd say, with my limited experience, that it is the one thing I think Evolve need to improve next. I think many would agree.

I bloody well work very near Bank station and commuting on my board is out of the question sadly, makes me think about changing job every time I hear about folk doing it in London

 

It Is annoying; managed to get into a routine and it was good practice. Although people on London seem pretty hostile, cyclists don't like you using the cycle lane and pedestrians don't like you using the footway.

Cyclists can just learn to live with it just like cars and pedestrians have to learn to live with them in my opinion. I don't have anything against the vast majority of cyclists, really I don't, but a few of them can be real pr1cks at times. The near misses from the minority that run reds are mounting up fast on my end! I do empathise with pedestrians a bit to be fair, though only when it's busy.

 

I agree just annoys me a lot...I'm not a fan of 99% of cyclists but that's just my bad experiences from riding a motorcycle in London for a few years.

I think I am pretty considerate of pedestrians; if it is busy I don't ride it on the pavement and wheel it behind like a luggage bag lol.

Just as I am new to riding a skateboard I was probably taking more room than the cyclists liked lol

 

Ha, yeah that is a good way to carry it if needed. Sorry, I didn't mean I think you fly about like a raging bat outa hell on the pavements in case that's how it seemed. The cyclists I've passed in the park at least have seemed a bit amused by it, pity everyone is in a bad mood on the way to work. They should all get GTs!
