Oh I thought the remote was done via bluetooth, I just turn my phone off (or flight mode and no bluetooth). It's definitely a worry. The remote has to be the hardest part of the learning curve in the beginning, it is for me anyway.

Those 3D prints look nice! Btw, you can print a remote trigger guard that someone on here designed. Not sure if you've seen that one? In fact, there are a few different ones now. Like one that screws on an one that just clips on.

Yeah I've downloaded the trigger gaurd and will see if that can be done next.

I might look a bit closer into the controller interface. I've done quite a bit of work with Arduino and I've been a UNIX engineer in the past so I'll see if I can sus it out.

Nice one, I'm going to be printing these as well, after payday...or the next one. Good luck with the remote! Sounds like you could add to the growing body of troubleshooting on it. Mine has behaved so far, very sensitive, but I knew that going in. I don't think I've had it drop out on me yet, fingers crossed. I'm keeping my eye on what others are saying about it though.

Going to work sucked as i couldnt just ride the board. Got home and went for a spin, 8km with 75% battery left.. although i was braking going down the hills so that probably helped.

I seem to have got my board legs back, and spent maybe 6 of those km just in fast mode. Eats the hills up. I think i have the trucks where i like them, and worked out the best place for my feet. Was really nice carving down the road and path, fresh air. Confidence is getting better.

Still think you guys that use GT mode are insane...

Thanks for the PM, Ill see if i can get motivated to get facebook, i had facebook when it came out but stopped it a few years ago.

Hey Dronus can you test something for me - hit up a good Hill in Fast and WITHOUT releasing the trigger change to GT. Obviously brace for it but on my board it goes straight to GT is the only gear change that doesn't require neutral. That's most of my GT use - when a hill is too gnarly for FAST. Or try it with the board lying upside down if it's too daunting for now. Pls report back

Dude, Spanyardo, if you want to talk about tinfoil hats, you're talking to the right guy! LOL. Well, we need a way of some sort of group messaging. Any suggestions/alternatives? Do you guys use Whatsapp or something?

While I'm logged on, I might tell ya'll about my first Adelaide cop experience.

So I was doing some skating and photography around linear park on Saturday and I got off linear park at my usual exit spot close to my house. I live about 4 blocks from my closest linear park entry/exit, so I've got about 5 backstreets between this point and home. At least 2 of these are healthy size back streets with moderate traffic. So I was on one of these streets, no bike lanes, but keeping as far to the left as possible without being in the rough. I could feel a car behind me so spun my head around for a quick peak. It was a cop car. Luckily I wasn't carving or anything. I was going at a fairly sensible pace, but I slowed it down more so as to make myself kind of indistinguishable from a regular longboarder. Kept my remote hand down and flush against my black jeans and just rolled to the intersection up ahead. I dropped my foot and stopped waiting to see what would happen next. The cop pulled up beside me, looked left (passed me) and right, and turned left and went on his way. He didn't give me second look. I turned right and, breathed a sigh of relief and continued home.

Now, there's a few possibilities here. Maybe he wasn't a street/traffic cop, or maybe he was on his way to or from somewhere else more important, maybe he (and hopefully most/all cops) either don't know or don't care about the small fry nature of eboard riders, and have bigger fish to fry. Maybe he thought about it and saw that I was behaving myself, mature, had a helmet, was obeying traffic laws and moved on. Or maybe I simply disguised it well and the penny didn't even drop on him... I don't know the answer here.

I think the moral of the story is don't act like entitled asshat on the streets, wear a helmet and do the right thing and you'll probably be left alone.

No worries I'll give that a go tonight hopefully. If it's not tonight I'll give it a go when I'm a bit more confident in fast mode :)

Yep I went past a police car on the weekend and they didn't seem to know/care. If I was being an idiot it might have been a different story.

I've been keeping off the roads where possible and being courteous to others which promotes a positive image of long/e boarders.

Good to hear you have had a similar experience :)

    Hi lads,
I've also been riding a Bamboo GT around Adelaide for the last 2 months. RejectBabylon, I'm surprised I haven't seen you along linear park, because it's been my favourite trip so far (between West Beach and the CBD). With street wheels I was able to make a 30km round trip in Eco mode. I've found that the AT wheels just hammer the battery too much though. Victoria Park is also fun when it's not busy (I'd wait until after March now). The surface is awesome and you can use a section of the Clipsal track. If anyone organises a group ride please let me know. Cheers, Bri

    Hey Bri,

I've opened an Adelaide riders group on Facebook. There didn't seem to be one in existance. Dronus, I've added you. Bri and Spanyardo (if you get yourself on FB) join us on the link below: https://www.facebook.com/groups/982643485171223/

Any other Adelaide riders that stumble across this thread are welcome to join to the group!

Hey man yeah cool, good to hear from another South Aussie! That linear park sounds like a good safe commute.. and Victoria Park would be good also after mad march has finished.

I didnt get out tonight on the board, although there is still time i guess before the sun goes down!

It would be interesting to see how the street setup goes. Im still happy with the AT setup and im guessing so are my knees :)

I'm kinda fundamentally opposed to Farcebook maybe you could please let me know if/when a ride gets organised. Good cop stories I've been worried about this as I sometimes ride along the esplanade south of Glenelg and have been lucky so far
