I have noticed a lot of cracks on top of my board, these have been getting worse.

They are not that deep, only look to go down a millimetre or two....however they are growing.

Is this normal? The board is less than one month old

Its honestly just cosmetic where the bamboo is bonded to the next bamboo strip. You can contact Evolve and see what they say about it, you did pay good money for it. Other's with Bamboo boards had cracks under the board right where the wire holder is, the screw in the board ends up splitting the top of the board having the same cosmetic defect that you have on the top. I'd check there too.

Checked underneath, and all is perfect, no cracks.

I agree it just looks cosmetic, seems like the layers are glued together, and this crack is only at the topmost layer.....doesnt look like it would effect the overall strength. I might forward them to evolve just to see what they say....considering like you mention the price of the board. It might be a manufacturing flaw, or weak layer.

Ill let you know what they say, cheers !

I have similar cracks to yours but only about 3 cracks. Contacted Evolve and they will send me a new deck as its warrantied against cracks. Contact them. You can either send your board in or do it yourself and have them mail you a new deck.

    Oh damn....thats bad news...

I have emailed the UK but am still waiting on a reply. Ill let you know what they say, but am not as optimistic anymore.
It is a shame, I know the board is not weaker or is likely to break, but every time I look down at my feet I see the cracks, and they annoy me.....1st world problem eh?

I got my reply, the UK will replace my board, they also confirmed that it is only cosmetic...but will replace under warranty. There is a log jam in supply though and it will not be for a few months until stock levels allow. Perhaps that is why Germany are reluctant. Let them know you don't mind waiting for stock to settle down.....worth a try.

The UK support were super cool, really nice and helpful, great attitude and service.

Mine looked like that out of the box. It's strictly cosmetic as there are only actually two (2) layers of bamboo in the board (you can see this in a side view of the board, the darker strips), and 7 layers of maple (the top being maple), and if it's anything like my actual longboard (same 9 ply makeup as my evolve), it will always look like that, and every board you get from them will be the same. Don't freak out when that's the case.

Whether this is strictly cosmetic or not, Evolve advertises their board to have no cracks. It does not mention anywhere on their website that you should expect superficial or cosmetic cracks on their website. So when you pay $1500 for a board, you expect what you see and what they advertise on their website. Mine is being replaced after speaking to evolve which means the cracks are not supposed to be there, especially for a three week old board.

Oh, pardon my bit of truth... When all your boards look like that though... replaced or not, i'll be here. ;)
