Unlikely, no. You have said exactly what I was experiencing and the Battsw was the only thing that fixed it.

This happens now on my board literally every time I use it. I went to pick up a pizza just now (not even 1km away) and just outside my drive way it happened.

I'm shipping this back to QLD for repair (i wonder how much THAT will cost) unless someone wants to buy this thing off me?

Did you try the Battsw plug? Unplug it. Check its wired solidly. Plug back in. Test
I've had it on two boards and this plug was the culprit. Didn't need a new motor controller

Hmmm, how do I find where those BAttsw wires are mate?

It's from the battery to the plug port on the motor controller labelled battsw

Ok, took the cover off, removed the Battsw connector as suggested, reinserted (did the same with the other connector too). Checked all other connectors and then put cover back on.

Did the exact same route as pizza pickup last night and same thing happened, except this time I was going a little faster and the jolt actually knocked me off the board. Im good tho, ran out of it. But damn me this is concerning.

I'm sending it back, just gotta find out how much it will be to ship it!

Did you check the wires in the Battsw were clamped into the metal clips properly. Not loose at all?
You could ask nicely for a new motor controller to be sent to you maybe rather than shipping it back?

Is the motor controller the entire circuit board unit?

Yeah. The whole thing comes out when wires are disconnected. The heat sink mounting plate comes out with it as one piece

It looks like it's only gonna cost about 30 bucks to send it, so I think I'll do that.

Didn't have the original box, so Bunnings and gaff tape was my answer.

Heheh. The irony: I threw the original box out at xmas time to make space under my bed. Arghhh!!!

I received the board back from Evolve HQ. Here's my vlog detailing what (I think) was fixed:
