Terrible Bamboo GT battery performance below 55%

Voltage sage is real. Can't go up any sort of mild incline (less than 5%) faster than 30km/h once my battery hits 55% or the remote will change down to ECO (voltage sag makes it go below 20%).

Battery probably has bout 20 charge cycles on it. Does anyone else experience this or is my battery a dud?

What's your raw voltage when you do a full charge. Also how balanced is your pack? These are available through the remote menu, the balancing one you have to do a certain key combo. Its documented on this site if you search on how to bring it up. If your battery is not balanced which drives the voltage down since it can't completely charge, you'll have some behavior like this. This also tells can help you if you have a good or bad pack.

I'm curious now how Evolve came up with their range numbers. You can go for way longer of a ride in ECO mode than say FAST or GT. But if it defaults to ECO @ 20% of the battery, is it fair to calculate that into the FAST or GT mode range? Top speed is reduced. I don't think anything was published on how they did the testing and what mode they were in.

I agree from my own experience the feature needs removing.

    Battery balancing - Wikipedia

    -------------
Typically, the individual cells in a battery have somewhat different capacities and may be at different levels of state of charge (SOC). Without redistribution, discharging must stop when the cell with the lowest capacity is empty (even though other cells are still not empty); this limits the energy that can be taken from and returned to the battery.

Without balancing, the cell of smallest capacity is a "weak point", it can be easily overcharged or over-discharged while cells with higher capacity undergo only partial cycle. For the higher capacity cells to undergo full charge/discharge cycle of the largest amplitude, balancer should "protect" the weaker cells; so that in a balanced battery, the cell with the largest capacity can be filled without overcharging any other (i.e., weaker, smaller) cell, and it can be emptied without over-discharging any other cell.
    -------------

There's a thread on this in the forum if you want to know more. The charger stays on, even though its green, putting charge though the BMS which manages the balancing. The weak batteries charge faster and strong slower, also strong cells take longer to discharge while weak faster. Our boards only deal with full charge balancing. Current is fed to the batteries, the BMS bleeds off the current to cells that are at 4.2 volts, full charge, and allows the other strong cells below 4.2 to reach that threshold. Once reached by all cells the current is cut off. You can see how balanced each cell is by their raw voltage in the remote hidden screen.

    Hello guys.
Does Evolve answer here sometimes (like Boosted on Reddit) to her consumers ?

What should the remote hidden screen voltage be when the battery is balanced?

Well they all should be shooting for that voltage in the main voltage menue screen, in theory 4.2 Volts or 4200 miliVolts (mV). But really what your looking for is that each cell is very close in tolerance from each other and don't have a wide spread. So if one cell is 4198mV, another is 4120 and another is 4059, you're pretty good. Again its the spread between the cells you're looking to bring as close as you can.

Cool, thanks for the info!! I get 4.1 - 4.2 if I unplug the charger and make it try again.
