Hi everyone, this is my customised bamboo GT and the process I went through. Once I have light blue tyres and white hubs it will be fully completed but until then here it is.

Cool design, not sure how long those stick on lights will last though. Would look interesting at night.

Alex, I've too had my LEDs like this for 2-3 days, but they just kept coming off! I had to put them somewhere else.

Got a 5m LED pack, and 4 corner connectors for 18 euros on Amazon.
Its nice, and sticks great to the carbon. The battery bank (12v) is very small and light, so I only use velcro and it really sticks
    good to the board.

However...The LEDs draws an insane amount of power. Whit my battery pack I have lights for 90-100 min. And thats it. Guess you get longer time whit a bigger bank, but then you need to use some 3M tape and keep it under the board always.

Im taking my LEDs off again....Feels a bit like Im a moving circus whit all this lights riding in the city, hehe.
Better to just stick to some good tail and headlights. To much attention whit this light shows.

    Cheers

PS Both the board and the battery bank is charging in this pictures, so the wires are obviously not there wen I ride...Only a 8cm wire from the battery to the LED box. And I just use black electric tape for that.
Size of the bank is 8x4x1.5cm

That remote makes it look like you should also be able to get cable, Netflix, HBO, and surround sound on your board, no wonder it's drawing so much power ;)

Just finished customising my board over the weekend. Pretty happy with the end result. It's stealthy now!

Not sure why, but personally to me (please don't take offence) black grip take makes it look kinda cheap. I think its because it makes it look like the deck could be made of plastic.

Wow, that looks like a completely different board jdnicholson!

I really like the solid black, looks clean cut. I'm a big fan of simple black and white (or similar) design on any product though.

  14. Hey guys, I'm about to receive my Bamboo GT in a week. Love your Grip deck results.
Not a huge fan of the original design either, so I planned on doing the same.
Would you say this method of doing the job ( ) is well suited ?
I'm new at this as you can tell and not a craftsman really, so would you recommend that I gave it a try on my first and only board or have someone experienced do it for me ? (Will a screw up be "irreversible" i.e. leave a lot of leftover adhesive etc?)
    Thanks so much

A hot glue gun will fix the issue with the lights coming off.

If you are in any way worried about puttin on new griptape, just strip the deck and take it along to your local skate store and they'd be more than happy to do it - plus they'll do it in seconds ;)
They might be able to offer something a little more creative or different griptape options.
Just remembering the old skool 'fly tape' you used to be able to get (can you still?) where you could 'pop out' a fly within the griptape to see the wood of the deck below.
