    Hi Evolvers !

I have my bambo since 2 weeks and it's great ! I ride only in fast mode because eco mode is very slow on my board (20-22 km/h max or 12-13 mph max). I'm on AT.

    I don't think it's normal....

    Thank you !

Yes eco is slow, more of a kick than slow but ideal cruising speed around busy streets with pedestrians etc I get the same :beers:

Ditto here. I can get up to about 14 mph on flat land with AT wheels.

I found Eco to be too slow with the AT setup, however with 97mm and 38 tooth drive gear Eco is now my default.

  5. I have 2 speed settings actually on my CGT and put the issue to Evolve France. This is what they said:

    Question:
He Evolve, first of all Merry Xmas to you all. I have my CGT now for about 4 months and had a lot of fun with it. I just have a question regarding the speed settings. I have the same power output and speeds in ECO, Fast and GT mode. I tried the 3 settings out and while I didn't get to max speed (too fast for me) I got to about 31 km/h in the same time in the 3 different speed settings. I re-paired my remote to my board, but the speed settings stay the same. Is there anything else we can do? Would llke to use ECO mode more in a less sensitive setting.
    Regards,
    Carl

    Hi Carl,

In Eco, Fast and GT program mode, you can reach the maximum speed. The difference is in the way to reach the maximum speed. The torque is better in fast program mode than Eco more and better in GT mode than in fast mode. Top speed is the same.

To reach the 43/45 km/h top speed, you need to install 97mm street wheels.

I hope it is clear enough

    Thanks Carl, very interesting !
Maybe my belts are too tight ?
Top speed in eco in AT is the same as the street kit ?

  7. Don't know what my speeds are in street kit. Been driving in AT most of the time since the weather isn't so nice to us in Europe during winter time. But I'm not sure that the speed of ECO should be the same as FAST or GT, since the power output of ECO mode only produces 40% of the available power? And since I'm not particularly a lightweight (200lbs) I should think I would be slower in ECO mode then the other 2 modes.

Ok so you ride at 35km/h in eco with AT. I definitely have an issue :/

I have a Bamboo GT (V1 electrics) & a Carbon GT (V2 electrics). Both have 7"AT wheels, the BGT does 19-20 mph in Eco, but the CGT barely does 12 mph in Eco. Both will do 20-22mph in Fast or GT

Interesting. I wonder if there is firmware in V2 electrics that is limiting speed in Eco. Do you have original remote firmware for both remotes?

Yes, both boards are as originally delivered. I've had my BGT since 9/13/16 and the CGT since 12/16/16
I like some things about the V2 electronics, but not everything. I don't like the automatic Eco setting when powering up the remote each time & when it forces into Eco under a load... It's been raining a lot, so I haven't spent much time on the Carbon yet..

Yep my bamboo gets 35kmh on eco just takes abit to get there compared to fast and gt

What I meant is does the carbon GT remote have the new firmware on it that auto drops to eco after 40% and where the left button drops into the lower speed modes instead of just reverse? I'm assuming it does. I think, though I don't know for sure that the new firmware is what is limiting the speed in eco. If you were to pair the older firmware remote with the carbon GT I would like to see what speeds you would get in eco then.

Yes, my CGT has the V2 remote & board electronics that behave like you describe. I recently tried my new V2 remote with my Bamboo & it's great!..

  15. Asked Evolve Aussi about speeds for the different modes... Answer below.
    -------
    Hi Carl,
Three of the four speed modes have potential to reach the top speed of the board - the difference is in the acceleration profile to get there. The outputs of each mode mean you may not have enough power in ECO to accelerate to the top speed as quickly as GT, but in ideal conditions I would still expect to see early/mid 30 kmh range for this mode. SLOW is the only mode where we have physically limited top speed for safety.
    In short;
GT mode has an aggressive, powerful acceleration profile and an ability to reach full speed in nearly all conditions.
FAST mode has less low end accelation, but is more focused in the top end of the band to reach top speed.
ECO has a soft acceleration curve, with the focus on smooth transition of speed up to near top speed in ideal conditions.
SLOW has a very soft profile and limited top speed to provide a safe mode to learn on.
Hopefully that clears it up for you!

    Thanks!

I received my 97mm since my first post and yes it's possible to reach 30 km/h in eco WITH street setup. Impossible in AT setup with my bamboo GT last batch.

I have found that by turning the board upside down and going thru the settings (no load) you will see the same top speed in all of the modes except slow and reverse.
Out riding today and while I had to kick up to fast to have the torque to push my fat arse up the hills, when I was in eco on flat or downhill I would get just as fast.

All things considered it is my first day back on the board so I didn't go too crazy.

It seems like the torque is much higher in the fast mode which is awesome for hills but I didn't need anything more than eco on the flat.

Not sure why your top speed would change, unless you were on a different hill, or that cold affects the battery output?

    :)

That's normal speed in eco mode. Anyone who says they get higher speeds has their remote on the wrong setting for the speedometer or just doesn't know what theyre talking about.

I can get about 15 mph max on eco, unless im on a completely full charge and on super flat ground with a slight down grade. There is no problem with your board.
