One motor stopping?

Think I remember reading that it is normal for one motor to stop powering when under stress? Such as going up a large amount of hills over a long period?

The only reason I'm putting this here is because it happened to me today for the first time. I actually noticed early in the ride (before any hills) that it felt like one motor was not pushing as hard as the other? Is that normal?

Nope not normally. Check the hall connections from motors into the motor controller inside board. Check each wire that goes into white clips.

Interesting, do i need to undo anything or just visually check those connections? I mean they are all still connected because the motor actually does work...

I might also post this on their page, see what they say.

Yeah check your hall wires, give them a little push make sure they haven't been stressed and about to fall apart. Happened to me, also I do randomly get a feeling like one motor isn't pushing, but as soon as I release the trigger and push it again it starts acting normal.

Hall wires? I'm not 100% what that refers to? Guessing its the wiring from the battery to the motor itself?

hmmm, so taking the casing off the battery pack? Am I about to void my warranty if I do this?

Nope I don think it voids your warranty (you may want to check with evolve), also check out the official evolve vids that show you how to open it up.

yep, same happened to my Carbon GT, the wires are very thin, and the red wire on the loom is shorter for some reason, and not crimped well. You can fix it yourself or Evolve will do it, I would add something to help told the wires together and not have stress on the red wire. Motors cost $189 i think, so if you can fix it yourself its a good still to learn

One motor rarely and intermittently stops on all three of my GT boards. I think it happens on everyone's that I have spoken to about it, definitely on all of my friends GTs here in Perth. The motor that stops, starts working again if you return trigger to neutral, then it'll function as normal, so it's not a big deal but seems to be a bug in terms of being unwanted. It always is preluded by a long burst of current and occurs after braking or slowing by neutral rolling and is noticed only upon re-accelerating.
It's always the same motor on all boards and happens maybe once every 15kms on average but can go a whole ride without it happening too.

Yep sounds like the exact same problem, hey painfulwood is there a Perth GT club or do you just have some friends with boards?

I am a pain I know. But my birth certificate says Paul

A friend and I started a Perth Electric Skateboarders Facebook page group. We mostly get CGT riders turning up. The First event there were all sorts of types and brands of boards, but I think they don't have the range or speed to keep up...

I'm on my 3rd motor and this has happend with all 3, 4 motors if you count my bamboo which it happens with also.

It's just yet another bug with the Evolve Faulty Boards.

This issue has changed now into braking causes the board to brake for a tiny bit then the board loses connection and won't respond til you turn the board off and on. Braking starts you all over again.

Any suggestions for this one? I've contacted evolve but they are closed til next year.

    B
BAttsw wires. Make sure the two wires are firmly crimped in the small plug

How would turning the board off and on fix this and how would only the brakes cause it to happen, I wen't over rough terrain before braking and nothing happend, I'll check this but it seems unlikely.

    Thankyou
