evolve app is rubbish frankly :p .... it just allows tracking via gps of runs taken and to message and find other owners and get news etc....which is all good stuff - however it does not link to the board.

Boosted does, and provides details from the board - various battery levels etc which would be great for evolve.....so boosted wins on that score :p

I agree, the gold is bling I could do without. If I had a gold tooth and gold necklaces draped around my neck like Mr. T then I'd probably lean more towards that style. ...you can always have the motors wrapped or repainted in the color you prefer, that's not a big deal to do. If they plated it, you have to rough up the surface or possibly take it all off with a sand blaster and then have it nicely powder coated to have ti done right really. Then if you're going to do all that, you could just look up what motors their running, possibly the same Racestar motors used in the GT, and swap them out selling the gold ones to someone on Ebay or the forum.

But then again I've seen people do quite a fine job wrapping things, so that could be the best and cheapest way to cover up the gold. Not sure if it would trap in much heat or not, since its thin you'd think it would be minimal.

Sounds like they worked on the poor ECO experience the GT had when it got to 20% battery, I read its now down to 5% it kicks in on the GTX.

All accepted man - I certainly do not doubt your integrity - and do agree with everything you did based on your experience - like i said before I too would have pursued it until happy - and if not demanded a refund. I am glad in the end you got that - and don't doubt he fight you had to make. Also that shouldn't have been necessary - and I to would like more transparency and action in regards to the owners who have suffered the same issue as yourself - it is real and effects people. They should own it - fix it - and be quick about it.......so no argument there

If you're just looking for something to have until your Boosted shows up, there seem to be people selling Gen2 Evolve stuff pretty regularly second hand. It's getting to the point where there might be some tired out batteries involved, but it'd be a good interim board, and it's always nice to have another board so you can drag other people along without having to actually drag them along.

Well, I'm not in a hurry, it's just that I don't know which one to buy between BB Dual+ and Evolve Bamboo GTX(those gold motors jikes... I don't really like them in that color).

But Boosted Board's range maybe is not enough for me, so.... I don't know.... not easy to make a decision

I ride my carbon to work and back every day and love it. If and when the remote does cut out you don't loose control of the board it is just important to remember not to shift between modes during game the drop because you can end up in reverse. With the new firmware update there is no reverse and the board does not switch to economical until 5%. As far as range I go up hill 75% of the way of a 2.5 mile trip to work with AT wheels in GT mode and still have 65% battery left when I get there. Something you should not underestimate is how sweet the AT setup is you can roll over dirt, grass, potholes pretty much anything. I will say the AT range going in fast or gt mode 21ish mph is about 8-10 miles which is still better than boosted but boosted is a great company with a outstanding customer support reputation. As far as the remote goes it does feel a little cheap but fits nicely in your hand and comes with a nice case, brakes are touchy but feel great once you get used to them. All in all live my carbon and am planning on getting a gtx next year☺️

I loved my carbon gt, but it only lasted 2 months and the deck has now cracked. It hasn't had any significant shocks (i dont even drop it onto the ground as I would with a normal skateboard, I place it down carefully). Now I have to send it back at my cost so they can inspect it.

I wish I just went the DIY route to be honest. Certainly would not recommend a Carbon GT anymore. The GTX might be better as it is wood not cheap poor quality carbon fibre.

When did you buy your GT which cracked? April/May '17? I heard of earlier GTs, pre Nov '16 cracking but I thought they got this issue under control. With the many hellish issues I had with my GT, a cracked deck surprisingly wasn't one of them.

I ordered it on the 4th of may and recieved it about a week later, so right on 2 months ago.

The crack is in the same spot as the other ones that are posted on the net, on the wheel cutout at the rear of the board. The two halves have split a bit then cracked vertically. Its not that big or noticeable at this point, but i imagine it would get worse with continued use.

Seems like a wierd spot for it to fail.

I guess either the problem hasnt been fixed or i received one from an old batch somehow.
